Why do you have so much hatred for beautiful, holy name of India? Siddaramaiah asks PM Narendra Modi

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his negative comments about the opposition alliance ‘I.N.D.I.A’. Siddaramaiah questioned the Prime Minister’s seeming dislike for the beautiful and holy name of India. He pointed out the similarity in surnames between individuals like Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi, who looted tax money and fled the country, and the Prime Minister, questioning if they should be equated.

Siddaramaiah highlighted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced legal consequences for questioning the association of Lalit and Nirav with the Modi name. He asked if the same actions should apply to the Prime Minister for comparing India to notorious organizations like the East India Company and Indian Mujahideen.

The Prime Minister had referred to the opposition alliance as the most directionless the country had ever seen and warned against misleading people using the name ‘I.N.D.I.A’, citing extremist and terrorist groups that have misused the country’s name. He also criticized the alliance as a collection of corrupt leaders and parties.

Siddaramaiah concluded by asking if the Prime Minister’s impatience with the name India extended to his government’s programs like Make in India, Start-Up India, and Skill India, and whether he would consider changing their names.
