‘Today when India speaks, people listen’

India’s stature has increased under the leadership of the Prime Minister, defence minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday while addressing a ‘Gauravshali Bharat’ rally on the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
“Today, when India speaks anything on international platforms, people listen,” he said.

Seeking support from the people for forming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre for the third consecutive term, he said, “People can decide better than me about the nine-year tenure of the Modi government, whether it worked as per their expectations or not.”

Whatever the BJP promised in its election manifestos, it delivered, he said, referring to the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the abrogation of Article 370 on special status for Jammu and Kashmir.

The government is giving higher subsidies on fertilisers to benefit farmers and the Haryana government is giving a minimum support price on 14 crops. He said the BJP government is continuously increasing the minimum support price.
